There are many useful services on the Internet, but you need an online account for each of them. It is important to keep each password unique, but you may have some trouble remembering all your passwords. This is where MyPadlock Password Manager comes in. Its only purpose is to keep your usernames and passwords safe. The application's design is so simple that it should not take more than a few minutes to store and protect a huge amount of login details.

MyPadlock Password Manager is lightweight and it can be installed fast. It is distributed as a freeware application and it works on Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7, as well as the 2003 and 2008 Server editions. If you are not a Windows 7 or Vista user, you should make sure that you have .NET Framework 3.5 or higher on your computer.

Adding a new account to the application's database is very easy. All you have to do is select this option in a drop menu, on a compact interface and type in the account's name, your login information and the web site's address. You can also insert additional information, like personal notes. When you type your password, you may click a button to show or hide the characters. Alternatively, you can hit a different option to generate a password with random letters, numbers and other symbols.

Accounts can be selected in the same drop menu, on the main interface. The login details are displayed beneath the drop menu, along with options for editing the information, deleting the account's entry, showing or hiding the password and copying the username or the password to the clipboard. Alternatively, you may click and drag the username and the password from the interface to the appropriate input fields, on a login page.

The application will warn you when you copy the username or the password to the clipboard, but you can turn off this feature in the general settings menu. Additionally, you can set MyPadlock Password Manager to log out automatically, after a certain number of minutes, in the same menu. Obviously, the application is protected with a master password. The log in screen is animated as an actual cipher, which rotates while typing the master password. Although it is not a critical feature, the animation is quite interesting.

Pros

It takes only a few seconds to add a set of account details to MyPadlock Password Manager's secure database. You can add any number of accounts and select them in a drop menu. The application allows you to show or hide the password's characters. It logs you out automatically, after a certain number of minutes and it warns you if you copy the username or the password to the clipboard.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention. With MyPadlock Password Manager, you can secure the login information for any number of accounts and keep it secure at all times.
